Book #1 – Saddled with Death – A Murder. A family in mourning. An old promise.
Emma Haythorne isn’t usually one to step away from a problem. So when a body turns up in the stable and that old promise rears it ugly head, she’s prepared to investigate the death. But the promise? Of course, if she draws the attention of the killer the promise won’t matter anyway.

Book #2 – A Gem of a Problem – A death. An inheritance. A problem left behind.
Carrying the blame for someone else’s misdemeanour doesn’t sit well with Emma, so whatever she decides to do it had better be done on the quiet to avoid further recriminations. Her family will understand. Won’t they?

Book #3 A Body in the Woodpile A dead woman. Secrets. Three abandoned children. While Emma discovers that even the dead have secrets, she isn’t about to let that prevent her from taking care of what her friend left behind. As for the living, there are some who believe she has a hold on a certain man that won’t let go, despite her best efforts to the contrary.

Book #4Murder at the Mill Two deaths. An accusation. Who was the intended victim? Manipulation by the family of the dead man makes Emma more determined than ever to figure out what is really going on, and clear her friend’s name before he is charged with murder. But has she done enough to put that old promise to bed, or are its ripples still holding all their lives in limbo?

Book #5Death in DisguiseA will. A death. A way to go. It’s 1884. Emma, now with a young son and no longer travelling with Daniel on the Mary B, is finding it difficult to settle into town life. So when her dear friend Janet Pickles is arrested for murder, Emma is only too ready to spring into the fray. But can she convince the coroner and the local police Sergeant that they’ve got it wrong? After all, she’s managed a riverboat crew, so anything is possible. Isn’t it?
